Is there anything like the delicious taste and incredible scent of fresh, homemade pesto? If you’ve got basil in the garden at its prime then I think you’re going to want to try this recipe. This definitely isn’t your ordinary pesto!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp Naked Almond Butter
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
- 3-4 tbsp warm water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Add the basil leaves to a food processor and pulse a few times. Add the garlic, Parmesan cheese and Gone Nuts Almond Butter. Process until fully combined and then add in the butter and olive oil. Finally add the lemon juice and enough water to reach the consistency of your choice. Add salt and pepper to taste!
Serve with pasta, or on a pizza crust or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
